Heating System Requirements Differ from Hot Water Systems

Plate heat exchangers use S30408 or S31603 stainless steel. Brand options include Alfa Laval, Danfoss, Tranter, or APV. Circulation pumps come from Grundfos, Xylem, Wilo, or Nanfang Pump Industry. Valves come from Shanghai Liangong or Ameico. Piping uses carbon steel or thin-wall S30408 and S31603 stainless steel. Control components come from Schneider, ABB, Siemens, or Chint. Heating systems have different requirements from domestic hot water systems. Heating systems focus on the secondary-side outlet temperature and the return temperature difference. Temperature accuracy requirements are less strict than those for domestic hot water. A difference of one or two degrees is usually not noticeable to building occupants. However, heating systems require higher pump head and flow capacity. Heating pipe networks are longer and have higher resistance.
